About Omega Baptist

Our Mission

We are a People Empowered by the Holy Spirit to Serve Families, Communities, and the World

Our Vision

Education:

Education must continue to be a driving force in our vision.

Empathetic Fellowship:

The way we treat one another and take care of each other's needs is critical to the life of the church. The Official Board, Office Staff and Ministerial Staff will strive to operate with excellence.

Increased financial giving and increased contributions to the Possess The Faith - Possess The Land campaign are a must if we are to continue the building of God's Kingdom.

Evangelism:

Evangelism will drive our efforts as we engage issues of Social Justice. This will be our mantra. Omega will be in the streets of our communities evangelizing, praying, and marching for justice.

"Saving Souls, Discipling Souls, and Taking Care of Souls"

What We Believe

Our doctrine is based first and foremost on the belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as Savior. The activity of God, the Creator, in coming down in the flesh as Jesus Christ and dying for our sins has given us salvation and an opportunity to eternal life. Through God's grace, we have been given the gift of life. For this gift, we give thanks, and declare Jesus as Lord in our lives.

A Baptist Congregation

We are a gathering of persons who have experienced four things:

  1. A Regenerate Heart
A change in heart which has called you out from a sinful way of living, thinking and acting to a spiritual way of living, thinking, and acting.
  2. A Confession of Faith
A verbal declaration of the total belief that Jesus is the Son of the Living God, our Lord and Savior.
  3. A Believer's Baptism
A ritual which is a symbolic declaration of the change in heart. We go down completely in the water and bury the old sinful way of living, thinking, and acting; raised up from the water in the newness of life with a new way of living, thinking, and acting.
  4. A Calling to Live a Christian Life
An external demonstration of a change of heart in the way that I live.

Conventions

Omega belongs to the American Baptist Churches, USA (ABC-USA), and the Progressive National Baptist USA (PNB) Associations - we are dually affiliated. As members of these two associations, we participate annually in the ABC-USA and the PNB Conventions. Locally, we participate in the Dayton Area Baptist Association (DABA).

We are a people of spiritual insight, a people of vision.

We are church unusual and pride ourselves in being...

  • Contemporary in our thinking
  • Enthusiastic in our Worship - (Instruments and dance!)
  • Service/Ministry oriented
  • Empathetic in our Fellowship
  • Holistic in our Christian Education Department
  • Essential to current life's challenges.

We are...

  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit
  • Biblically centered
  • A 7 day-a-week church.
